- Recipient of the fifteenth place prize for the Eleventh Annual Writer’s Digest Short Short Story award
- Published in the poetry magazine Poesia out of San Francisco
- Won Honorable Mention for the story “Coupons” in the international poetry and short story contest, the Laughing Gull
- Placed as a quarter-finalist out of five thousand entries in Amazon’s 2010 Breakthrough Novel contest
- Published a book of short stories called “D” is for Dysfunctional in October of 2010
- Placed 96th in the top 100 of the Mainstream/Literary Short Story category of the 80th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition
- Has freelanced at various sites including Prayables.com
- Has worked professionally in social media and Internet marketing
- Established and led a writer’s workshop in her former city called Corpus Christi Writers
